The Savannah Theater presents “Harmonix”

First Friday Art March

Every first Friday of the month, Art Rise Savannah presents the First Friday Art March through the Victorian and Starland Districts of Savannah. Discover local art, music, food and culture all over Georgia’s First City by taking the free Art March Trolley to different galleries and shops around Forsyth Park and Past Forsyth Park. There is FREE entry to all of the First Friday Art March events! The Savannah Art Association Gallery Grand Opening Reception

Don’t miss The Savannah Art Association Gallery Grand Opening Reception on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. at 232 Bull Street on Chippewa Square.

The Savannah Art Association Gallery exhibits the art of Savannah Art Association members – paintings of all types, photographs, sculpture, jewelry, wood art, a little fabric art, prints, notecards, and the notorious SAA cookbook. They have both long term exhibitions and two-month exhibitions. Many of the artists also exhibit in other galleries in Savannah, and the gallery is staffed by the people who actually created the work.

The Savannah Art Association is the oldest continuously operating art association in Georgia – we started in 1920. We have over 120 members today, both professional artists and hobbyists. The show includes everything from national treasures like George and Ira Gershwin and Aaron Copland to some of the finest Broadway, film and patriotic music. Join us as our collective voice praises the brilliance of America in this star-spangled performance!

Sidewalk Art Festival

When:      April 29, 2017

Time:        10:00 AM

Where:     Forsyth Park

Every year, SCAD students, alumni and high school students create magnificent chalk masterpieces in Forsyth Park for the annual Sidewalk Arts Festival. The colorful festival returns on April 29, 2017 from from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with individuals and team competing to win prizes of up to $1,500. In addition to the sidewalk art, visitors can also see the art of tableaux vivants, or “living pictures” in which actors and models will silently depict a scene as if in a photo. Chalk distribution begins at 10 a.m., drawing at 11 a.m., with judging and results announced in the afternoon. For more information about SCAD’s Sidwalk Arts Festival, go to scad.edu.
