Savannah is always picturesque, but when she puts on her holiday best she is without a doubt one of the prettiest cities you’ll ever see. And while locals know to expect a photo-worthy holiday display around every corner, it doesn’t diminish the awe we experience every year when our hometown once again embraces us with picture-perfect sights like the ones mentioned here.

Savannah’s historic squares

At holiday time, Savannah’s squares are decoratively reminiscent of Colonial Christmas past. Natural garland is artfully draped, fashioned into wreaths, entwined with a ribbon around lamp posts, and gathered into pretty bundles tied with bright red bows.

City Market

The spirit of the season shines through at City Market, which is all decked out for the occasion. Holiday trees are laden with ornaments and lights, and hundreds of string lights and 500+ luminaries fill the two-block courtyard with a heart-warming glow.

Gingerbread Village

The gingerbread houses displayed in the annual Gingerbread Village at The Westin Savannah Harbor are inspired, edible works of art. It’s a wonderland of spectacular creations that range from Savannah riverboats to Santa’s workshop to replicas of The Westin.

In our city’s old-fashioned Christmas parade, not only are the cars, trucks, floats and trolleys creatively decorated and all lit up. Even the groups on foot are wearing or carrying lighted adornments.
